You may get comfort from many sources. Alcohol, sex, smoking/vaping, or by other means. But you must know that God is the source of all GOOD comfort. So, I urge you to get your comfort from God!
Fruit of the Spirit: For others to know you are a child of God, people must see God through you. You must live in a way that is holy [from 1 Thessalonians 4:1-12 (4)]. That does not mean you must or should wear a cross, carry Bibles, speak in tongues, or use religious words. In other words, let your fruit-bearing life show that you are a child of God. Slander is saying false, harmful and damaging things about another person intended to smear their character or status. Slander is an act of hate not love.
Congratulations, child of God, I take great pleasure in telling you that you have an inheritance waiting for you. What does this mean? As a child of God, you have the right to receive an eternal gift. It is your birthright through Christ. Please allow me to tell you more!
Learn to love others and the Lord with agapaō love. To love not only with words but through actions and true caring. Love God because He loved us first.
Gossip in the body of Christ is not new, but I hope you understand, it is a sin when it is not helpful and good. The message in 2 Timothy 3:3 and 5; people will gossip and be ‘false accusers’, but we must avoid them, do not take part in talking about others. I pray that you practice self-control. It is one way to make sure you are not guilty of corrupt/evil speaking.
Jesus was calm during the storm, “asleep on a pillow.” Child of God, are you calm during your stormy faith test like Jesus or afraid like the disciples? Each stormy faith test brings a new chance to show your faith. I know you feel like giving up. The storms of life are there to test your faith.
The word unwavering is a not-so-familiar word; learn to have unwavering hope and faith, without doubting the promises of our faithful Lord and Savior-Jesus.
Backbiting is a destructive and damaging sin, similar to—but different from slander and gossip. It is the ‘filthy communication’ spoken of in Colossians 3:8. ‘Backbiters’ is listed as one of the sins of those with a reprobate/depraved/corrupt mind {read Romans 1:28-32 (30)}.
Why continue in sin after being set free? You can live free from sin through Christ. Exercise your freedom, but obey God’s word 1st and then governing laws. It might take some time to adjust but choose to walk in your freedom!
James says that the testing of your faith is a cause for celebration. Especially when you see the benefit of your diligence, patience, and endurance (James 1:2-3). So be glad when your faith is tested, it will teach you patience for hardship.
Jesus said “Those who are healthy have no need for a physician, but those who are sick do … I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”
Trust God—demonstrate your faith—to provide your basic needs. Remember, He sent the disciples (Apostles) without food or provisions because He is reliable. So trust Him!
Spiritual joy is a lasting joy, a joy based on Spiritual things and our promise of eternal life in heaven. Children of promise, find joy in the Lord.
