The Lord Makes A Nation Great When People Live Right

Isaiah 26:13-15 [read Isaiah 26:1-19 (13-15)]: O Lord our God, others have ruled us, but you alone are the one we worship. 14 Those we served before are dead and gone. Their departed spirits will never return! You attacked them and destroyed them, and they are long forgotten. 15 O Lord, you have made our nation great; yes, you have made us great. You have extended our borders, and we give you the glory! (NLT)

KJV: O LORD our God, other lords beside thee have had dominion over us: but by thee only will we make mention of thy name. 14 They are dead, they shall not live; they are deceased, they shall not rise: therefore hast thou visited and destroyed them, and made all their memory to perish. 15 Thou hast increased the nation, O LORD, thou hast increased the nation: thou art glorified: thou hadst removed it far unto all the ends of the earth.

The Lord made Israel great (increased in size but more importantly in influence), and He can and will do it for America or any nation that lives godly!

Put your trust in the Lord

Isaiah 26:4 [read Isaiah 26:1-19 (4)]: So trust in the Lord (commit yourself to Him, lean on Him, hope confidently in Him) forever; for the Lord God is an everlasting Rock [the Rock of Ages]. (AMPC); KJV: Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:

God’s children give Him credit for accomplishments

So beware of those who take credit; they are not genuine believers.

Proverbs 3:5-6 [read Proverbs 3:5-6]: Place your trust in the Eternal; rely on Him completely; never depend upon your own ideas and inventions. 6 Give Him the credit for everything you accomplish, and He will smooth out and straighten the road that lies ahead. (VOICE); KJV: Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

2 Corinthians 3:5 [read 2 Corinthians 3:1-6 (5)]: I don’t mean that we are able to do anything good ourselves. It is God who makes us able to do all that we do. (ERV); KJV: Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God;

Our hope is in the Lord

Isaiah 26:8 [read Isaiah 26:1-19 (8)]: Following the way of your judgments, we put our hope in you. The desire of all our soul is to remember you and your name. (CJB); KJV: Yea, in the way of thy judgments, O LORD, have we waited for thee; the desire of our soul is to thy name, and to the remembrance of thee.

When people live right

A nation’s true greatness is not in its military might or oppression of people, but in obedience to God.
Proverbs 14:34 [read Proverbs 14:34]: Doing what is right makes a nation great, but sin will bring disgrace to any people. (NCV); KJV: Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.

Love others as much as we love ourselves

We should treat all people the way we want to be treated!
Luke 6:31 [read Luke 6:27-36 (31)]: Treat people the same way you want them to treat you. (NASB); KJV: And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.

James 2:8-9 [read James 2:1-13 (8-9)]: However, you are doing well if you fulfill [i.e., obey] the royal law found in the Scriptures [Leviticus 19:18], “You should love your neighbor the same way that you love yourself.” 9 But if you show favoritism toward [certain] persons, you are committing a sin and are convicted by the law [of God] as lawbreakers. (AUV); KJV: If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well: 9 But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.

Now show love and not hatred

1 Peter 1:22 [read 1 Peter 1:22-25 (22)]: You have made yourselves pure by obeying the truth. So you have an honest and true love for each other. So love one another deeply, from your hearts. (NIRV); KJV: Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:

Love is essential

Unbiased and genuine love for all people.
Romans 12:9-10 [read Romans 12:9-21 (9-10)]: Love should be shown without pretending. Hate evil, and hold on to what is good. 10 Love each other like the members of your family. Be the best at showing honor to each other. (CEB); KJV: Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good. 10 Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;

Philippians 1:9-11 [read Philippians 1:3-11 (9-11)]: My prayer is that your love may grow more and more in knowledge and understanding, 10 so that you can work out what’s really important. That way you can be genuine and blameless when Christ returns, 11 filled with the fruits of living right that come through Jesus Christ and give glory and praise to God. (FBV); KJV: And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment;

Isaiah 26 is a song of victory and praise. The Lord did and does defend His people. So we should trust in the Lord and live to please Him. Then He will make your nation great!
