When you tell others what God has done for you — that is beautiful, pleasant, and true praise. Giving praise to God is good. So, make an (insanely) joyful noise, giving God genuine praise!
Are we too civil to make a joyful noise to the Lord? Is God not worthy of a joyful shout? Lift your voice and shout joyfully to the Lord for all that he has done for you!
So, come on, you can do it. Open your mouth and give thanks to the Lord. Give Him credit for all that He is and has done. Let Him know that you adore Him! He wants you to show it!
Let us offer, as our sacrifice, continual praise to the Lord — it is an offering from your lips that glorify the name of the Lord; JESUS (from Hebrews 13:15 Open English Bible). The Psalms are full of terms that express praise and can be your motivation. I give you four to give you examples of ways to give verbal praise.
Those who taught me used the word “hallelujah” as a praise. As a result, we believed that we were worshipping God. Thankfully, after relying on their teachings for most of my life, the Lord corrected me. My praise is genuine now that I know how to adore Him and I’m no longer stuck on hallelujah!
When you praise God, you honor, worship, and express admiration for Him. Please understand that you are NOT praising God when you say “hallelujah”; in fact, you are merely giving a command to ‘praise the Lord”! So, hallelujah, is not the highest praise!
