Give Thanks To The Lord, For He Is Good

Give thanks to the Lord. Remember, as I have shown you in another lesson, arguably, hallelujah is not praise. So to thank the Lord, talk about what he has done for you because God is good!

STM Bible Snack

Hallelujah! Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His faithful love endures forever. 2 Who can declare the Lord’s mighty acts or proclaim all the praise due Him? 3 How happy are those who uphold justice, who practice righteousness at all times. Psalms 106:1-3 (HCSB) [read Psalms 106:1-3].

Give Thanks To The Lord

We give thanks to the Lord. He has done many things that are worth thanking him for, if you know that God is good, consider the following.

  • Do you have a favorite sports team and find that you get excited when they score or win? So, if you are a child of God you are on the winning team, we can celebrate right now!
  • You were dead because you were sinful and were not God’s people. But God, let Christ make you alive when he forgave all our sins. 14 God wiped out the charges that were against us for disobeying the Law of Moses. He took them away and nailed them to the cross. 15 There Christ defeated all powers and forces. He let the whole world see them being led away as prisoners when he celebrated his victory. Colossians 2:13-15 (CEV) [read Colossians 2:11-23 (13-15)].
  • Or maybe you clap and scream for a celebrity or entertainer. Who do you know that is more well-known, capable of carrying out and fulfilling than the Lord? Take some time to explore the beauty of this creation.
  • Think of anything or anyone in your life that causes you to celebrate. Isn’t the One that created you—the One that takes care of you—worth showing that you appreciate the fact that He is? From here on, let the world know that God is good!

Always be full of joy. 17 Never stop praying. 18 Whatever happens, always be thankful. This is how God wants you to live in Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (ERV) [read 1 Thessalonians 5:12-22 (16-18)]

For He is Good

Think about this. God is very good to you, he doesn’t easily get angry with you, and he doesn’t punish you straight away for the bad things you do. You know that God is good like that, right? He is good to you. He tries to get you to come back to him and stop doing bad things. Romans 2:4 (PEV) [read Romans 2:1-16 (4)].

So, come on you can do it, open your mouth, and give thanks to the Lord. Give Him credit for all that He is and that He has done, He desires our praise and thanks. Do you adore the Lord? If you do, let Him know it, He wants you to show it!

Give thanks to the Lord of lords, for his gracious love is everlasting. Psalms 136:3 (ISV) [read Psalms 136:1-3 (3)].

I pray that you have enjoyed and will make the most of this Bible snack. Blessings to you and your loved ones— Tim. ☺
