Give Thanks To The Lord, For He Is Good

Give thanks to the Lord. Remember, as I have shown you in another lesson, arguably, hallelujah is not praise. So to thank the Lord, talk about what he has done for you because God is good!

Give Thanks To The Lord, For He Is Good

Praise the Lord! Give thanks to the Lord because he is good, because his faithful love endures forever. Psalms 106:1 (CEB)

STM Bible Snack

Psalms 106:1-3 [read Psalms 106:1-3]
Praise the Lord! Give thanks to the Lord because he is good, because his faithful love endures forever. 2 Who could possibly repeat all of the Lord’s mighty acts or publicly recount all his praise? 3 The people who uphold justice, who always do what is right, are truly happy! (CEB)
KJV: Praise ye the LORD. O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever. 2 Who can utter the mighty acts of the LORD? who can shew forth all his praise? 3 Blessed are they that keep judgment, and he that doeth righteousness at all times.

Give Thanks To The Lord

We give thanks to the Lord. He has done many things that are worth thanking him for, if you know that God is good, consider the following.

Do you have a favorite sports team and find that you get excited when they score or win? So, if you are a child of God you are on the winning team, we can celebrate right now!
Colossians 2:13-15 [read Colossians 2:11-23 (13-15)]
You were dead because you were sinful and were not God’s people. But God, let Christ make you alive when he forgave all our sins. 14 God wiped out the charges that were against us for disobeying the Law of Moses. He took them away and nailed them to the cross. 15 There Christ defeated all powers and forces. He let the whole world see them being led away as prisoners when he celebrated his victory. (CEV)
KJV: And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; 14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; 15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

Always be full of joy

Or maybe you clap and scream for a celebrity or entertainer. Who do you know that is more well-known, capable of carrying out, and fulfilling than the Lord? Take some time to explore the beauty of this creation.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 [read 1 Thessalonians 5:12-22 (16-18)]
Always be full of joy. 17 Never stop praying. 18 Whatever happens, always be thankful. This is how God wants you to live in Christ Jesus. (ERV)
KJV: Rejoice evermore. 17 Pray without ceasing. 18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
Think of anything or anyone in your life that causes you to celebrate. Isn’t the One that created you—the One that takes care of you—worth showing that you appreciate the fact that He is? From here on, let the world know that God is good!

For He is Good

Romans 2:4 [read Romans 2:1-16 (4)]
Think about this. God is very good to you, he doesn’t easily get angry with you, and he doesn’t punish you straight away for the bad things you do. You know that God is good like that, right? He is good to you. He tries to get you to come back to him and stop doing bad things. (PEV)
KJV: Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?
Psalms 136:3 [read Psalms 136:1-3 (3)]
Give thanks to the Lord of lords, for his gracious love is everlasting. (ISV)
KJV: O give thanks to the Lord of lords: for his mercy endureth for ever.

So, come on, you can do it. Open your mouth and give thanks to the Lord. Give Him credit for all that He is and has done. Let Him know that you adore Him! He wants you to show it!
I pray that you have enjoyed and will make the most of this Bible snack. Blessings to you and your loved ones— Tim. ☺
