You can not fool God! So God’s people should remove false words or actions (trying to fool others). By doing so, they keep away from deceit (anything that will mislead others). Remember, deceit leads to spiritual death, and truth gives amazing life.
Your primary reason for attending services should be to learn how to live to please God. If your pastor is not doing this then you are in the wrong place.
• Is what they teach about right and wrong ways to live, talk, and treat others? There is more to pastoring than making people feel good (2 Timothy 4:1-5).
• Do they use the Word of God to back up what they teach? Never get so comfortable with what they teach that you will not verify it by studying the Word yourself [Acts 17:11].
Prevarication – Get out of telling the truth: to avoid giving a direct and honest answer or opinion, or a clear and truthful account of a situation, especially by quibbling or being deliberately ambiguous or misleading. Evasion of the truth; deceit, evasiveness. To lie, mislead, or conceal the truth deliberately.
The moral values of the religious society have changed and being religious or spiritual is not the same for everyone. Once again I encourage you to study God’s word to get a true understanding of what He requires. We are allowed the freedom to live as we choose, my desire is that you choose to live for Christ.
God is Spirit, and those who worship God must be led by the Spirit to worship him according to the truth. You/we are God’s temple [1 Corinthians 3:16]. He is ALWAYS with you. That means you do not have to go to a building or place to meet Him. So, you can worship Him anywhere.
That Spirit, the Holy Spirit (Spirit of God; Spirit of Christ), has come and is available to all. My friends allow the Holy Spirit to guide you into true knowledge. Now learn to worship God in Spirit (the Holy Spirit) and reality (true knowledge of God and what you should do). Because you are no longer a slave to sin!
Worship Him wherever you are and at all times. Yes, even in the building you call church. The truth is, ‘temple of God’, He came in that building with you!
Never did I stop to ask God what He required; I know you are not like that—self-righteous—guy I used to be. My ‘church’ experience was attending every service, three to four times a week, with no such thing as timed services (a set time to end our worship service). We were Acts 2:38 ‘holy-rollers’ and knew we were pleasing God in our manner of worship.
