Make Your Eternal Destiny Life In The New Jerusalem!

"The New Jerusalem - the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem - From Hebrews 12:22 (KJV)'

STM Bible Snack

Revelation 3:12 [read Revelation 3:7-13 (12)]
Everyone who wins against Satan will be safe in God’s house. I will make them like a strong pillar1 in the temple of my God. They will never leave that place again. I will write on them the name of my God and the name of his city. The name of that city is the new Jerusalem. It will come down from heaven. My God will send it down to the earth. I will also write my new name on those people. (EASY)
KJV: Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.
1A strong pillar in the temple represents a permanent home in heaven. The church is the pillar (support) and ground (foundation) of the truth [per 1 Timothy 3:15].

Life In The New Jerusalem!

The New Jerusalem refers to the capital of the new creation in which the presence of God is with humankind (Revelation 21:3). As indicated by Revelation 3:12, where the faithful of the church of Philadelphia are promised that the name of the New Jerusalem will be written upon them, the citizens of the New Jerusalem are those who have not denied Christ, and have remained faithful to his word (cf. 21:7).

Here are four descriptions of the New Jerusalem (holy city)

Read Revelation 21:9-21.

1. Having the glory of God

Revelation 21:11
Its brilliance was like a precious stone, like a jasper, transparent as crystal. (OEBus)
KJV: Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal;

2. Its dimensions

Revelation 21:16
Now the city is laid out as a perfect square; its length is the same as its width. So, he measured the city with the stick [and found it to be] fifteen hundred miles each way; its length and width and height all being the same. (AUV)
KJV: And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal.

3. The wall

Revelation 21:18
The wall was built of jasper, and the city was pure gold, like pure glass. (CEB)
KJV: And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass.

4. The gates and streets

Revelation 21:21
The twelve gates were twelve pearls, each gate made of a single pearl. The great street of the city was of gold, as pure as transparent glass. (NIV)
KJV: And the twelve gates were twelve pearls: every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.

The new Jerusalem is AKA:

All verses are from the KJV.

1. “Heavenly Jerusalem”

Hebrews 12:22 [read Hebrews 12:18-24 (22)]
But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,

2. “The bride, the Lamb’s wife” and “The holy Jerusalem”

Revelation 21:9-10 [read Revelation 21:9-21 (9-10); compare 21:2]
And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb’s wife. 10 And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,

3. “Jerusalem which is above”

Galatians 4:26 [read 21-27 (26)]
But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.

Why make it your eternal destiny?

In case you’re wondering why. For starters, let’s look at Revelation 21:4 (NKJV). If we compare it to our current life, this should make you very excited!
1. No more tears
And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes;
See Isaiah 25:8 and Revelation 7:17; read Isaiah 25:1-12 (8) and Revelation 7:9-17 (17).
2. People will never die
there shall be no more death,
See Isaiah 25:8; 1 Corinthians 15:26 and 54-58; Hebrews 2:14-15; and Revelation 20:14.
3. Nothing to be sad about
nor sorrow, nor crying.
See Isaiah 51:11, 60:20, and 65:19.
4. Pain will not exist
There shall be no more pain,
5. All earthly troubles and worries will end
for the former things have passed away.
See Isaiah 25:8, 35:10, and 42:9; 2 Corinthians 5:17.

Be glad and rejoice

Revelation 19:7 [read Revelation 19:1-10 (7)]
We should rejoice and be extremely glad, and we should give honor to Him. For the time has come for the Lamb’s marriage, and His bride has prepared herself [for the wedding]. (AUV)
KJV: Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.

Your eternal destiny, a heavenly home

2 Corinthians 5:1-2 [read 2 Corinthians 5:1-8 (1-2)]
We know that our body—the tent we live in here on earth—will be destroyed (that is, when we die and leave this earthly body). But when that happens, God will have a house for us to live in. It will not be a house made by men. It will be a home in heaven that will last forever. 2 But now we are tired of this body. We want God to give us our heavenly home. (ICB)
KJV: For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. 2 For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven:
