What We Hope For, Our Destiny, Life In Heaven!
STM Bible Snack
We were made right with God by His grace. And God gave us the Spirit so that we could receive the life that never ends. That is what we hope for. Titus 3:7 (ICB) [read Titus 3:1-8 (7)].
What we hope for
As stated before, it is useless to set goals we don’t believe we can accomplish. However, it is possible to have a life in heaven.
God is the one who has prepared us to have a new life in heaven one day. He has given his Spirit to be with us now. Because of that, we know that we will receive all God’s good things one day. 2 Corinthians 5:5 (EASY) [read 2 Corinthians 5:1-8 (5)].
Life Application Bible Commentary – All believers are promised a glorious eternity in heaven with God. We are confident that what we hope for is stored (or “laid up”) there, and that we will one day receive it.
We have heard of your faith in Christ and of your love for all God’s people, 5 because what you hope for is kept safe for you in heaven. You first heard about this hope when you believed the true message, which is the good news. Colossians 1:4-5 (CEV) [read Colossians 1:3-8 (4-5)].
Isaiah 65:17 and 66:22 both speak of the hope that God promises. It refers to a new heaven and earth that is not corrupt.
What will happen next, and what we hope for, is what God promised: a new heaven and a new earth where justice reigns. 2 Peter 3:13 (Voice) [read 2 Peter 3:10-13 (13)].
We hope our destiny will be is a life in heaven that never ends
Because we are God’s children, we also know that we will receive good things from him. Those are the things that he has promised to give to his children. Together with Christ, we will receive the things that God has kept for him. That is true if we agree to have troubles like Christ did. Then we will also enjoy life in heaven like Christ does. Romans 8:17 (EASY) [read Romans 8:12-17 (17)].
Now we hope for the blessings God has for his children. These blessings are kept for you in heaven. They cannot be destroyed or be spoiled or lose their beauty. 1 Peter 1:4 (ICB) [read 1 Peter 1:3-12 (4)].
The wrap-up
Finally, what we hope for is based on a promise and commitment from God sealed by His Holy Spirit. But we must know that faith is what makes hope work.
Faith is what makes real the things we hope for. It is proof of what we cannot see. Hebrews 11:1 (ERV) [read Hebrews 11:1-3 (1)].
Continue to hope for what God has promised because it is sealed with the Holy Spirit [Ephesians 1:3-14 (12-14)]. Above all, we should never lose hope that our destiny is life in heaven! I pray that you have enjoyed and will make the most of this Bible snack. Blessings to you and your loved ones—♥ Tim. ☺
