We Will Overcome; Now Never Stress About Life’s Mess
STM Bible Snack – We will overcome
The Holy Writings say [Psalm 44:22], “Because of belonging to Jesus, we are in danger of being killed all day long. We are thought of as sheep that are ready to be killed.” (NLV) 37 But we are able to overcome [KJV: in all these things we are more than conquerors] all these things and more through his love [through Christ]. (BBE) Romans 8:36-37 [read Romans 8:31-39 (36-37)].
Yes, child of God, as stated before, you will have trouble and suffer in this life. But not to the point of getting the best of you unless you let it.
Keep your head up, you will overcome
Hold your head up and put a smile on your face. In the end, we win, i.e., we overcome. This life on earth will not beat us. It might seem that we are losing, but we walk by faith and not by the way things look (2 Corinthians 5:7). Always remember, what keeps us going is what we believe in but have not yet seen. So a few messy conditions will not deter or stop us!
It is sin that gives death its sting, and it is the law that gives sin its power. 57 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory, through Jesus Christ, our Lord. 58 Therefore, my dear friends, stand firm, unshaken, always diligent in the Lord’s work, for you know that, in union with him, your toil is not in vain. 1 Corinthians 15:56-58 (OEB) [read 1 Corinthians 15:50-58 (56-58].
Some create their mess
Are you jealous? Are you concerned only about getting ahead? Then your life will be a mess. You will be doing all kinds of evil things. James 3:16 (NIRV) [read James 3:13-18 (16)].
Words of wisdom from James 3:17 to avoid the mess
- Love and live in peace.
- Always think about others and not just about yourself.
- Obey God at all times.
- Be full of mercy and good fruit (deeds).
- Make a practice of fairness.
- Don’t pretend to be what you are not.
Now Never Stress About Life’s Mess
God went for the jugular when he sent his own Son. He didn’t deal with the problem as something remote and unimportant. In his Son, Jesus, he personally took on the human condition and entered the disordered mess of struggling humanity in order to set it right once and for all. The law code, weakened as it always was by fractured human nature, could never have done that.
The law always ended up being used as a Band-Aid on sin instead of a deep healing of it. 4 And now what the law code asked for but we couldn’t deliver is accomplished as we, instead of redoubling our own efforts, simply embrace what the Spirit is doing in us. Romans 8:3-4 (MESSAGE) [read Romans 8:1-11 (3-4)].
At times, it might seem that God has forgotten us—yes, this life can be a mess, but please do not stress. Certain things and experiences can be stressful, but don’t give up, don’t worry, and have faith that you’ll win in the end.
So endure your struggles with confidence. We will overcome; now never stress about life’s mess. I pray that you have enjoyed and will make the most of this Bible snack. Blessings to you and your loved ones—♥ Tim. ☺
