Thank You, Lord, You’re Reliable And Good To Us!

I just want to say thank you, Lord. You’re reliable and good to us. So please join us in thanking God, if he has been good to you also! Above all, we should always give thanks to the Lord.

STM Bible Lesson

Lesson focus: Psalms 119:9-16 (12). Bible lesson background: We need a grateful mindset and a desire to learn from the Lord. In hope that he accepts the heartfelt praises from our mouths. The more we go through and learn with God. We come to realize how much he desires our praise and gratitude. A “thank you” does not cost anything. But means so much. Especially when it comes from the heart. And when it is combined with a hug, it is magical. Best of all, it will not hurt you to show your appreciation.

Thank you Lord! Teach me what to do! 108 Lord, please accept my offerings of praise that I freely give you. Teach me your rules. 171 Let me pour out my words of praise, for you teach me what to do. Psalms 119:12, 118, and 171 (FBV)

Thank You, Lord

Is it time for you to say: “Thank You, Lord?” Often we are so busy we spend a small part of one day to give the Lord our time—Saturday or Sunday—we go to ‘church’. Aside from that we rarely give the Lord our attention and/or praise.

Try thanking Him during the hard times of life. Yes, whatever you are going through, thank the Lord. I remind you we are not only looking at your present situation but your eternal salvation. What we endure on earth in the flesh is temporary.

Remember the ten lepers that asked Jesus for mercy {Luke 17:11-19}. He told them to “go show yourselves to the priests“, and they were cleansed. How many of the ten let the Lord know that they were thankful for what He did?

Luke 17:15-19

And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God, 16 And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan.

17 And Jesus answered, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine? 18 Was no one found who returned to give glory to God, except this foreigner. 19 And he said to him, Arise, go your way: your faith has made you well. (RKJNT)

Please do not be like the nine unthankful lepers, remember to give the Lord praise. Thank Him for the eternal—the everlasting—life that He promised.

A short prayer:

Father, I thank you for each test and trial that you are taking me through. Thank you for your goodness and mercy. For your word and Spirit that comforts and guides. I thank you for your love, joy, and peace. For allowing me to see another day in my right mind! Lord, I am grateful for all you do and for who you are, in Jesus name, Amen.

Do you ever stop what you are doing and think of the goodness of Jesus? Thinking of the times that you know, without a doubt, that God stepped into your situation. The times He moved on your behalf. Now start saying, “Thank you, Lord”.

Knowing who He is; “Thank you Lord” because He did not have to do anything for you. I thank you, Lord!

Shout for joy to the reliable Lord

Next, for a boost read these Scriptures!

Shout for joy to the Lord, everyone on earth. Psalms 100:1 (NIRV)

Jesus got near to the lowest part of the Mount of Olives. The whole crowd of his disciples were very happy. They began to praise God with loud voices. They thanked him for all the great things that they had seen. 38 They said:
‘May the Lord God bless the king who comes with his authority!
We want everything to be well in heaven. We praise our powerful God above!’
39 Some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to Jesus, ‘Teacher, stop your disciples from saying these things.’
40 ‘Let me tell you this,’ Jesus replied. ‘If these people were quiet, the stones of the city would shout out instead!’ Luke 19:37-40 (Easy)

So why should everyone shout for joy?

Whatever he [the Lord] does is reliable and just, and all his precepts [rules] are trustworthy, sustained through all eternity, and fashioned in both truth and righteousness [right doing]. He sent deliverance to his people; he ordained his covenant to last forever; his name is holy and awesome. Psalm 111:7-9 (ISV)

Worship and sing

Serve {worship} the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing [Psalms 100:2 (KJV)].

Day after day they went to the house of God together. In their houses, they ate their food together. Their hearts were happy. 47 They gave thanks to God and all the people respected them. The Lord added to the group each day those who were being saved from the punishment of sin. Acts 2:46-47 (NLV)

Let the message about Christ completely fill your lives, while you use all your wisdom to teach and instruct each other. With thankful hearts, sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs to God. Colossians 3:16 (CEV)

Give thanks…

Know that the Lord is God. He made us, and we belong to him. We are his people, the sheep he takes care of. 4 Come through the gates to his Temple giving thanks to him. Enter his courtyards with songs of praise. Honor him and bless his name. Psalms 100:3-4 (ETR)

Let us give thanks all the time to God through Jesus Christ. Our gift to Him is to give thanks. Our lips should always give thanks to His name. Hebrews 13:15 (NLV).

He is good to us

Because the Lord is good, his loyal love lasts forever; his faithfulness lasts generation after generation. Psalms 100:5 (CEB).

Thank you Lord wrap-up

Always be happy. 17 Never stop praying. 18 Give thanks whatever happens. That is what God wants for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (ICB)

Be thankful and mindful of praise. The next time something unpleasant happens, do as the above Scripture says, and ‘give thanks whatever happens‘. I know you may not feel thankful at all times.

But if you get into the habit of thanking God, it will be easy to express your appreciation. Start by saying, “Thank you, Lord (Jesus), you’re reliable and good to us” and keep doing so! I pray that you have enjoyed and will make the most of this Bible lesson. Blessings to you and your loved ones— Tim. ☺
