Is Jesus God? This Is What You Should Know!

"In the beginning was the Word (Jesus), the Word (Jesus) was God. ALL things were created by Him (Jesus), the Word (Jesus) became human. I AM (Jesus is) the Beginning and the End, I AM (Jesus is) the First and the Last. Is Jesus God?"

STM Bible Snack

In the beginning(A) the Word [Jesus] was, and the Word [Jesus] was with God, and the Word [Jesus] was God. 3 Through [KJV: by] him [Jesus] all things came into being, and nothing came into being apart from him(B). 14 And the Word [Jesus] became human, and lived among us, (We saw his glory — the glory of the Only Son sent from the Father), full of love and truth(C). John 1:1, 3, and 14 (OEBus) [read John 1:1-18 (1, 3, and 14)].

The first and the last!

God was the first and will be the last
In Isaiah 44:6 God said  “I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.” [read Isaiah 44:6-8; see Isaiah 41:4 and 48:12].
Jesus was the first and will be the last
However, in Revelation 1:11 and 17, Jesus said “I am the First and the Last” [read Revelation 1:9-20; see Revelation 22:13 (22:16)].

The beginning and the end

God is the beginning and the end
In Isaiah 48:12 God said “I am God; I am the beginning and the end.” (NCV) [read Isaiah 48:12-22 (12)].
Note: KJV “I am the first, I also am the last.”
Jesus is the beginning and the end
In Revelation 22:13 Jesus said “I am…the beginning and the End“. [read Revelation 22:12-17 (13)].

The creator

God created…
In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth. 21 And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth… 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.” Genesis 1:1, 1:21, and 1:27 (KJV) [read Genesis 1:1-31].
Jesus created…
Christ himself is the Creator who made everything in heaven and earth, the things we can see and the things we can’t; the spirit world with its kings and kingdoms, its rulers and authorities; all were made by Christ for his own use and glory.” Colossians 1:16 (TLB)

This Is What You Should Know!

Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation,” Colossians 1:15 (NLT) [Read Colossians 1:9-18 (focus verses: 15-18)].
In Revelation 22:13 Jesus said “I am the Alpha and the Omega(1), the First and the Last, the beginning and the End.” (OEB)
(1) Note: in Hebrew, Jesus Said, “I Am the Aleph and the Tav“.
“And [in addition], we know that the Son of God has come [in a physical body] and has given us understanding, so that we can know the True One [i.e., God], and that we are in [fellowship with] the True One, even His Son Jesus Christ. This Son [Jesus] is the true God and eternal life.” 1 John 5:20 (AUV) [read 1 John 5:18-21 (20)].

“For Christ is not only God-like, He is God in human flesh.” Colossians 2:9 (NLV) [read Colossians 2:1-9 (9)].

So is Jesus God? Let’s review what we presented.

  1. Jesus and God say they were the first and beginning and will be the last and end.
  2. They created everything.

Since God cannot lie [Titus 1:2] and Jesus is the truth [John 14:6], I conclude that, as stated in John 1:1, 1 John 5:20, and Colossians 2:9, Jesus is God and I hope you agree. I pray that you have enjoyed and will make the most of this Bible snack. Blessings to you and your loved ones— Tim. ☺
