Fornication: Explore 5 Amazing Facts All About Premarital Sex

Fornication is a sexual sin. When you have premarital sex you commit fornication. That is, having any form of sexual activity (including anal and/or oral) without being married to each other. Do you care what God says about premarital sex? If the answer is yes, then let’s explore 5 amazing facts all about premarital sex.

So put everything evil out of your life: sexual sin, doing anything immoral, letting sinful thoughts control you, and wanting things that are wrong. And don’t keep wanting more and more for yourself, which is the same as worshiping a false god. 6 God will show his anger against those who don’t obey him, because they do these evil things. 7 You also did these things in the past, when you lived like them. Colossians 3:5-7 (ERV) [read Colossians 3:1-11 (5-7)]

STM Bible Lesson

Lesson focus: 1 Corinthians 5:9-13. Bible lesson background: Times are changing, today people seem to be less concerned about what God wants and more about their wants. In fact, it is all about our rights as individuals. “I can do what I want if I want when I want.” Is that the way you think?

Message in the picture:

No marriage, NO SEX; Don’t be a fornicator!

Fact #1 – Do not socialize with those who are having premarital sex

Christians should not associate (keep company; hang out) or eat with Christians that fornicate. You are advised to not socialize with them and tell them why so that they may be ashamed and hopefully change [reference Romans 16:17; 2 Thessalonians 3:6-15 (13-15)].

Do not have fellowship with [people who practice] worthless deeds of darkness [i.e., sinful living], but expose them instead [do good things to show them that they are wrong]. Ephesians 5:11 (AUV)

Fact #2 – It is the pastor’s duty to disfellowship

Pastors must expel those who do not change this behavior {i.e. if they do not stop having sex before marriage} (1 Corinthians 5:13)! The goal is to show the guilty person that they need to repent and change their ways [Matthew 18:15-20 (17); 18:21–22; 2 Corinthians 2:6-8; 2 Timothy 2:24-26].

I wrote in a letter to you not to keep company with fornicators. 10 Yet you cannot completely avoid the fornicators of this world, nor the greedy persons, nor cheaters and robbers, nor those who worship idols. To do so, you would have to leave this world. 11 I wrote you not to keep company with any man who is called a brother who is a fornicator, or who is greedy, or who worships idols, or constantly gets drunk, or cheats people. Do not even eat with such a person. 12 What have I to do with judging those outside (in the world)? Do we not judge those who are inside (the congregation)? 13 God judges those outside. Remove the wicked man (person) from among yourselves. 1 Corinthians 5:9-13 (NSB)

G4205 πόρνος pornos (por’-nos) n.

  1. Mickelson’s: a (male) prostitute (for hire). (by analogy/comparison) a sex addict, a pornographer.
  2. Strong’s: From πέρνημι pernēmi (to sell; akin to the base of G4097); a (male) prostitute (as venal), that is, (by analogy) a debauchee (a person whose life is devoted to luxury and sensual pleasures): – fornicator; whoremonger.
  3. Mounce’s: one who is sexually immoral (male or female), in some contexts distinguished from an adulterer (1 Corinthians 6:9); a catamite (a boy kept for homosexual practices).
  4. Abbott-Smith’s: anyone engaging in sexual immorality.
  5. Thayer’s: a man who prostitutes his body to another’s lust for hire, a male prostitute; universally, a man who indulges in unlawful sexual intercourse, a fornicator.

[from pernemi “to sell” (akin to the base of G4097)] KJV: fornicator, whoremonger.

Fact #3 – Our bodies are the members of Christ, and temples of the Holy Spirit: they must not, therefore, be defiled

God wants you to be holy. He wants you to stay away from sexual sins. 1 Thessalonians 4:3 (ERV) [read 1 Thessalonians 4:1-8 (3)]

Your body is where the Holy Spirit lives. So, you cannot do anything with your body that you want. Especially when it comes to sexual activity.

Flee fornication[G4202]. Any other sin that a man does is outside the body, but he that commits fornication[G4203] sins against his own body. 19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom ye have of God, and that ye are not your own? 20 For ye are bought with a price, therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s. [1 Corinthians 6:18-20 (JUB)]

  1. G4202 πορνεία porneia (por-nei’-a) n. 1. Prostitution (including adultery, incest, and porn). 2. (By extension) unwedded stimulation or fulfillment of sexual desire.
  2. G4203 πορνεύω porneuo (por-nev’-ō) v. 1. To act the prostitute. 2. (Literally) indulge unlawful lust (of either sex). 3. To stimulate unwedded sexual desire.

Be careful, just because someone goes to church does not mean it is safe to be with them.

Do not let anyone fool you. Bad people can make those who want to live good become bad. 1 Corinthians 15:33 (NLV) [read 1 Corinthians 15:29-34 (33)]

Consider the advice in Psalms 1:1, do not ask for or follow the advice of, hang or be with, or be like sinners.

Fact #4 – Fornicators/those having sex before the vows are headed for the second death

But the cowardly, and unbelieving, and abominable, and murderers, and fornicators, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone; which is the second death.” Revelation 21:8 (AFV) Revelation 21:1-8 (8)

Read “Immorality Defiles the Church” 1 Corinthians 5:1-8 and “Church Discipline” 1 Corinthians 5:9-13; compare Romans 16:17-20 (17), 1 Timothy 6:3-10 (3-5), and 2 Thessalonians 3:6-15 (13-15); “Walk in Love” Ephesians 5:1-7.

Fact #5 – Those who sin sexually will not receive God’s kingdom!

Surely you know that people who do wrong will not get to enjoy God’s kingdom. Don’t be fooled. These are the people who will not get to enjoy his kingdom: those who sin sexually (fornicators {KJV}), those who worship idols, those who commit adultery, men who let other men use them for sex or who have sex with other men, those who steal, those who are greedy, those who drink too much, those who abuse others with insults, and those who cheat. [1 Corinthians 6:9-10 (ERV); read 2 Corinthians 6:11-18 (14 and 17), Ephesians 5:1-7 (5) and 5:8-14 (11), 2 Thessalonians 3:6-15 (13-15)]

My friends, please avoid having sex before marriage, God is not pleased with those who commit fornication which is a sexual sin. Remember these 5 amazing facts:

  1. Other Christians should not associate (keep company; hang out) or eat with Christians that have sex before marriage.
  2. Pastors must expel/excommunicate those who continue to fornicate.
  3. Your body is where the Holy Spirit lives and it belongs to Christ, keep it holy by being holy.
  4. Fornicators will burn with fire and brimstone AKA the second death.
  5. Those who sin sexually will not enter (inherit) God’s kingdom!

Blessings to you and your loved ones— Tim. ☺
