9 I wrote to you in my letter not to associate with fornicators; 11 But as it is, I wrote to you not to associate, if anyone who is named a brother is either a fornicator or greedy or an idolater or a reviler or a drunkard or an extortioner; do not even eat with such a person. (MLV)

KJV: 9 I wrote unto you in an epistle not to company with fornicators^G4205: 11 But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator^G4205, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.

This is an example of tough love, it is not to say that one is better than the other.

Fact #1 – Do not socialize with those who are having premarital sex

Christians should not associate (keep company; hang out) or eat with Christians who fornicate. Avoid socializing with them and tell them why, so that they may feel ashamed and hopefully change. [reference: Romans 16:17; 2 Thessalonians 3:6-15 (13-15); Matthew 18:15-20 (17).]

Ephesians 5:3 [read Ephesians 5:1-7 (3)]

So, as God’s people, you must never have sex with anyone that you are not married to. Do not do any kind of disgusting thing like that. Do not want many things for yourselves, just to make you happy. That is not how God’s people should live. (EASY)

KJV: But fornication^G4202 [sexual sin], and all uncleanness [any kind of evil], or covetousness [selfishly wanting more and more], let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints.

Do not reject God’s warning

Hebrews 12:14-16 [read 12-17 (14-16)]

Try to live in peace with all people. And try to live lives free from sin. If anyone’s life is not holy, he will never see the Lord. 15 Be careful that no one fails to get God’s grace. Be careful that no one becomes like a bitter weed growing among you.
A person like that can ruin all of you. 16 Be careful that no one takes part in sexual sin. And be careful that no person is unholy like Esau. He sold all his rights as the oldest son for a single meal. (ICB)

KJV: Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord: 15 Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled; 16 Lest there be any fornicator^G4205, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright.

Fact #2 – Church Discipline

The church must expel those who do not change this behavior {i.e. if they do not stop having sex before marriage} (1 Corinthians 5:2 and 13)! This helps show the guilty person that they must repent and change their ways [Matthew 18:15-20 (17); 2 Timothy 2:24-26].

2 And you are inflated with pride, instead of filled with grief so that he who has committed this act might be removed from your congregation. 13 But God judges outsiders. Put away the evil person from among yourselves. (HCSB)

KJV: 2 And ye are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he that hath done this deed might be taken away^G1808 from among you. 13 But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away^G1808 from among yourselves that wicked person.

Exairo – take or put away

G1808 ἐξαίρω exairo (ex-ai’-rō) v. take away out of a place; to remove.

Christians are not required to judge non-Christians for their sins, but they are required to take action against sin in the church. In the case in question, this will mean the removal of the guilty person from the church fellowship (12-13).

Fact #3 – Our Bodies are the Temples of the Holy Spirit

Be mindful that your body is where the Holy Spirit lives. So, you cannot do anything with your body that you want. Especially when it comes to sexual activity.
Also remember, fornication is a sexual sin. As previously stated, Christian singles should abide by the rule of “no marriage, no sex.“

Run from sexual sin! No other sin so clearly affects the body as this one does. For sexual immorality is a sin against your own body. 19 Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God?

Be holy!

Bad conduct harms the Church

Be careful, just because someone goes to church does not mean it is safe to be with them.

Consider the advice in Psalms 1:1, do not ask for or follow the advice of, hang or be with, or be like sinners.

Fact #4 – Two Deaths Await Fornicators, i.e., Those Having Premarital Sex

But the cowardly, and unbelieving, and abominable, and murderers, and fornicators, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone; which is the second death.” (AFV)

A sinner’s final destination is the ‘lake of fire’ and not hell

Then Death and Hell were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. 15 Anyone whose name was not written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire. (NIRV)

Fact #5 – Those who sin sexually will not enter God’s Kingdom!

Don’t you know that people who are unjust won’t inherit God’s kingdom? Don’t be deceived. Those who are sexually immoral, those who worship false gods, adulterers,

KJV: Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate,

Live as the children of light that you are

[For] You can be sure of this: No one will have a place [inheritance] in the kingdom of Christ and of God who sins sexually, or does evil [impure] things, or is greedy.

Your New (Spiritual) Life

Colossians 3:5-7 [read Colossians 3:1-11 (5-7)]

So put everything evil out of your life: sexual sin, doing anything immoral, letting sinful thoughts control you, and wanting things that are wrong.
And don’t keep wanting more and more for yourself, which is the same as worshiping a false god.
6 God will show his anger against those who don’t obey him, because they do these evil things. 7 You also did these things in the past, when you lived like them. (EASY)

KJV: Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: 6 For which things’ sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience: 7 In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them.

Final thoughts

Therefore, dear friends, please abstain from premarital sex. Fornication is a sexual sin, and God is unhappy with those who engage in it. Remember these 5 amazing facts:

2. According to the scriptures, the church must expel or excommunicate those who continue to fornicate.

5. Those who sin sexually will not enter (inherit) God’s kingdom!
