Use your FAITH, Ask, Believe, Receive
Receive Your Healing

Receive your healing by faith in the power of Jesus’s name.

Jesus told his disciples:
Have faith in God! 23 If you have faith in God and don’t doubt, you can tell this mountain to get up and jump into the sea, and it will. 24 For this reason I am telling you, whatever things you ask for in prayer [in accordance with God’s will], believe [with confident trust] that you have received them, and they will be given to you”. Mark 11:22-23 (CEV) and 24 (AMP).

All things, whatever you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive” [Matthew 21:22 (WEB)].

Think about this

God gives His followers power to do as He did: Matthew 10:7-8 “And preach as you go, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is near.’ 8 Heal sick people, raise people from the dead, restore health to those with infectious skin diseases, and drive out evil spirits. You have received [blessings] freely, [now] give them out freely.” (AUV)

Jesus makes it clear that the Lord honors the prayers of His children. Faith in our Savior is the key to our healing.

If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him [Matthew 7:11 (RKJNT)]?

Do you need healing? Ask in Jesus name, believe that He can
and will heal you, and receive your healing…

Key Points:

  1. Exercise your faith; ask, believe, and receive. We can come to God with no doubts. This means that when we ask God for things (and those things agree with what God wants for us), God cares about what we say. 15 He listens to us every time we ask him. So we know that he gives us whatever we ask from him. 1 John 5:14-15 (ERV)
  2. God wants only good for His children; whatever He allows you to go through, know that it will ultimately be for your good… [read Romans 8:18-39 (18, 23, 26-28, 31, 35 and 38-39)]
  3. Jesus said, “whatever you ask in my name, I will do it(from John 14:13-14), do you believe He will? If you do, ask…

Jesus is the master physician/healer

  • David: Psalm 34:4 I sought the Lord, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears. (KJV)
  • The Samaritan leper: Luke 17:19 Jesus told the man, “Get up, and go home! Your faith has made you well.” (GW)
  • A great crowd: Matthew 12:15 Jesus, perceiving that, withdrew from there. Great multitudes followed him; and he healed them all, (WEB)

And to the centurion, Jesus said, “Go; let it be done for you according to your faith.” And the servant was healed in that hour. Matthew 8:13 (NRSV)

‘Receive your healing’, is more than just a phrase. The command ‘receive your healing’ is similar to ‘rise up and walk’. Jesus gave the command and by faith, it was done. By faith in God, some will be healed while reading this Bible study. Try reading the scriptures out loud.

“But that you may know that the Son of man has authority on earth to forgive sins, (then he said to the paralytic,) Arise, take up your mat, and go to your house“. Matthew 9:6 (RKJNT).

Read Matthew 9:1-8 and John 5:1-15 (5-8) {supported by Mark 2:1-12 (11); Luke 5:17-26 (23-24) and 13:10-17 (11-13)}.

God heals

Through Peter

Please understand and remember, God worked through the disciples (Apostles). It is not the person doing the healing but God. Yes, some (including the born-again believers of today) have the gift of healing {1 Corinthians 12:9}, but always remember it is God who does the healing.

“Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. 7 And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength“. Acts 3:6-7 (KJV).

Read Acts 3:1-10 {supported by Acts 8:4-8}.

Through Paul

As he listened to Paul, [the apostle] looked at him intently, perceiving that he had [enough] faith to be fully healed [of his lame condition], 10 so he said loudly, “Stand straight up on your feet.” And the man jumped up and began walking. Acts 14:9-10 (AUV).

Read Acts 14:8-18.

Once the Lord told me “do not lay hands on this person, just pray for them”. It was clear that He did not want anyone to think it was me doing the healing. I had/have to stay mindful that God was/is working through me, I am His instrument. —Tim

Life-changing events

Receive your healing in Jesus name

For many years I have come into contact with people who have been hurt in many ways but have not been set free from the results of the experience. I too have been through many major life-changing events. For me, the most devastating led to many years of major depression. Fortunately, I never thought of suicide, but I remember often saying “I would not mind dying”. The Lord healed and delivered me and now I walk in that deliverance.

Can cause long-term pain and suffering

Some do not like to label or group people, but sometimes it is helpful. For this Bible study, please allow groups based on common life-changing events. The following are events that can cause long-term pain and suffering:

  • Sexual, physical, and mental abuse; such as rape, incest, involuntary transgender experience (example: having intimate relations with someone who appeared as a male but is actually female), etc.
  • Broken families (resulting from divorces, blended families, single-parented, foster children, abandoned children, etc.)
  • Mistakes past or current – for some, we cannot get over the things we did in the past or that we are doing now.
  • Death: from illness, accident, homicide (murdered), suicide, or other causes.
  • Broken hearts and rejection – hurt or dumped by someone you loved…
  • War veterans and other victims of post-traumatic stress disorder (aka PTSD) and other causes of hurt or distress.

Your healing

I am so sorry you suffered or are suffering. We deal with trauma differently, but there are some common responses ranging from shock to fear and trouble sleeping to isolation. I will cover this in detail in part two. One thing we are assured of, God is able to heal you and He will heal you!

As painful or difficult as this might be to accept ‘nothing bad ever happens to a child of God. Every experience will ultimately be for your good. Romans 8:28 says it is because God loves you and called you to fulfill His purpose’.

In fact, He has helped me see how every event in my life worked to prepare me for this ministry. Yes, every event made it possible for me to minister to a vast number of people. Are you more comfortable confiding in someone who has been through what you are going through?

“We are assured and know that [God being a partner in their labor] all things work together and are [fitting into a plan] for good to and for those who love God and are called according to [His] design and purpose” [Romans 8:28 (AMP)].

The sick restored to health

“Are any in your community suffering? They should pray. Are any celebrating? They should sing praises to God. 14 Are any sickG770? They should call the elders of your church and ask them to pray. They will gather around and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 Prayers offered in faith will restoreG4982 [KJV and all older translations use “save”] them from sicknessG2577 [KJV: sick] and bring them to health. The Lord will lift them up from the floor of despair; and if the sickness is due to sin, then God will forgive their sins” [James 5:13-15 (The Voice)].

From the lexicon

G770 astheneo – sick
G770 ἀσθενέω astheneo (as-the-ne’-ō) v. [Thayer’s Greek Lexicon: in particular for James 5:14] to be feeble; sick.
[from G772]
KJV: be diseased, impotent folk (man), (be) sick, (be, be made) weak Root(s): G772
G4982 sozo – heal
G4982 σώζω sozo (sō’-zō) v. [Thayer’s Greek Lexicon: in particular for James 5:15] to make well, heal, restore to health.
{literally or figuratively} [from a primary sos (contraction for obsolete saos, “safe”)]
KJV: heal, preserve, save (self), do well, be (make) whole
NOTE: the same Greek word is commonly used for both physical healing and spiritual salvation. However, in this case, ‘sozo’ represents physical healing i.e. [read James 5:13-18 (14-15)].
G2577 kamno – sick
G2577 κάμνω kamno (kam’-nō) v. [Thayer’s Greek Lexicon: in particular for James 5:15] to be sick.
[apparently a primary verb]
KJV: faint, sick, be wearied

Forgiveness

I would never belittle what you suffer. One thing to remember, Jesus and Stephen asked God to forgive those who were about to kill them. One key element in our healing process is forgiving the one(s) that caused our pain (when it applies). Are you ready to receive your healing?

“Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do…” [Luke 23:34 (KJV)].

“…Lord, lay not this sin to their charge…” [Acts 7:60 (KJV)].

Question for part one: If you struggle with issues, do you believe God can/will heal you?

Mental Health

It is very unfortunate that people suffer from many conditions, including mental health issues. To be brief, you must believe there is no issue or condition that Jesus cannot heal.

From there he went all over Galilee. He used synagogues for meeting places and taught people the truth of God. God’s kingdom was his theme — that beginning right now they were under God’s government, a good government! He also healed people of their diseases and of the bad effects of their bad lives.

24 Word got around the entire Roman province of Syria. People brought anybody with an ailment, whether mental*, emotional, or physical. Jesus healed them, one and all [every kind of sickness and disease]. Matthew 4:23-24 (The Message)].

Note: * the KJV used the word lunatick (moonstruck, i.e. mentally ill).

Conditions

As mentioned in part one, psychiatrists have studied the long-term effects on those whose lives have been negatively impacted by events. I attempt to summarize some of the findings. In any case, perhaps you can identify with one or more of these if you are a victim:

  • Anger/Hatred – sometimes extreme anger or rage.
  • Blaming self – feeling like you are responsible.
  • Drug use/abuse – this includes alcohol, prescription, and illegal drugs.
  • Replaying the event in your mind – this may happen daily, infrequently or only when triggered by other circumstances.
  • Panic attacks – when similar things happen
  • Isolation – avoid interaction with others.
  • Psychosomatic disorder – passing the scene or encountering people that remind you of the event or person can trigger emotional stress or illness.
  • Low self-esteem – more about trauma from psychologytoday.com

Ask for help

“And whatever request you make in my name, that I will do, so that the Father may have glory in the Son. 14 If you make any request to me in my name, I will do it” [John 14:13-14 (BBE)].

If you suffer from a mental health condition, I urge you to ask for help. As a matter of fact, you can seek professional help. In addition, I recommend that you also seek God. Undoubtedly, it is according to your faith in the Master Healer and His abilities; “all things are possible”.

‘Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes‘ [Mark 9:23 (WEB)].

Question for part two: Have you received your healing?

Receive Your Healing wrap-up

Believers healed

The apostles given the gift of healing
Jesus then called the twelve apostles together and gave them power and authority over all evil spirits and [the ability] to heal diseases. 2 And He sent them out to preach the [coming] kingdom of God and to heal sick people. 6 So, they left and went throughout the villages preaching the good news and healing people everywhere. Luke 9:1-2 and 6 (AUV) [read Luke 9:1-6 (1-2 and 6)]
The apostles heal many people
The apostles did many signs and wonders among the people. All the believers used to meet together at Solomon’s Porch. 13 No outsider dared to join them. But the people thought highly of them. 14 More and more people believed in the Lord. They joined the other believers. 15 So people brought those who were sickG772 into the streets. They placed them on beds and mats. They hoped that at least Peter’s shadow might fall on some of them as he walked by. 16 Crowds even gathered from the towns around Jerusalem. They brought their sickG772 people. They also brought those who were suffering because of evil spirits. All of them were healed. Acts 5:12-16 (NIRV)
G2323 therapeuo – heal
G2323 θεραπεύω therapeuo (the-ra-pev’-ō) v. [Thayer’s Greek Lexicon: in particular for Acts 5:16] to heal, cure, restore to health.
[apparently from an obsolete derivative of the base of G2330, thero “to heal”]
KJV: cure, heal, worship

Final words

I pray that ‘Receive Your Healing’ has brought healing into your life—your mind—your body. Jesus told the Apostles, that they will receive power when they receive the Holy Spirit (read Acts 1:4-8 {8}). Accordingly, the same healing power is working today, you can experience God’s power that heals and makes us whole.

Continue to seek God and trust Him to stay true to His word and someday receive your healing in Jesus name, Amen! Blessings to you and your loved ones— Tim. ☺

  4. Thank you Gwendolyn Taylor, I appreciate your support on this site and Google+. Now that you finished an online Bible study and commented, have shared at least one summarized Bible study on G+, you are now a member of “The Elect” circle.

May God continue to bless you and your loved ones, stay with and in the word of God.

  6. Hello Diane and thank you for taking time to visit the site and comment. I am so sorry to hear about your situation, but I stand confident that our God is able to do anything according to our faith. I will stand with you and would like to continue with you offline via email if you so desire. My wife and I often research various conditions to offer advice in helping others (and ourselves) learn more about what we must endure in this life. I am blessed to get a genetic condition under control–type 2 diabetes–so that I no longer require medication. My philosophy is the doctors help us know exactly what to pray for, I do my part to make adjustments to my lifestyle–including eating habits–and then I can expect God to what He will do. 🙂 Bless you my friend–Tim
