To keep marriage holy, we must adhere to God’s way. Although governments, society, and even some clerics support same-sex marriages, He is against intimate partnerships between people of the same sex.

Keep Marriage, Holy; God Made It For Man and Woman

Jesus said "God made people male (man) and female (woman)" from Matthew 19:4 (ERV)

STM Bible Lesson

Lesson focus: Matthew 19:4-6. Bible lesson background, Matthew 19:1-10: Jesus answers the Pharisees concerning marriage and divorce. He makes three major points that keep marriage holy:
1. God first made a man (male) and then a woman (female) for a companion.
2. The man was to leave his father and mother to unite with his wife in marriage.
3. They were meant to be inseparable until death.
Lexham Survey of Theology: Holy matrimony, or marriage, is a complete and comprehensive union, oriented toward procreation, covenantal and lifelong, between one man and one woman.

Jesus and the Pharisees

Matthew 19:4-6 [read Matthew 19:1-10 (4-6); Ephesians 5:22-33 (31)]
And He answered them, “Have you not read [Genesis 1:27; 5:2] that when God created [mankind as] male and female, 5 He said [Genesis 2:24], ‘For this reason [i.e., since He made one woman for one man], a man will leave [the home of] his father and mother and will cling to his wife, [so that] the two of them will [then] become one flesh [i.e., united in such a close relationship as to constitute one body]?’ 6 So, [upon becoming husband and wife] they no longer function [entirely] as two persons, but [as] one body. Therefore, those whom God [so] joins together [in the marriage bond], no person must [ever] separate.” (AUV)
KJV: And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, 5 And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? 6 Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
Marriage should supersede all other human relationships, including the parent-child and sibling relationships.

God created two genders; male and female

The constantly shifting phase of gender identification is making it increasingly difficult to keep marriage holy. According to MedicineNet, there are 74 genders. “The idea is to make everyone feel comfortable in their skin irrespective of what gender they were assigned at birth.”

Genesis 1:27 [read Genesis 1:26-28 (27)]
So God created humans in his image. In the image of God he created them. He created them male and female. (GW)
KJV: So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
Genesis 5:1-2 [read Genesis 5:1-5 (1-2)]
Here is the genealogy of Adam. On the day that God created man he made him in the likeness of God; 2 he created them male and female; he blessed them and called them Adam [humankind, man] on the day they were created. (CJB)
KJV: This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him; 2 Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created.

All living creatures are assigned two genders

Genesis 7:16 [read Genesis 7:13-16 (16)]
The males and females of each living creature entered the ark, just as God had commanded. Then the Lord sealed them inside. (ISV)
KJV: And they that went in, went in male and female of all flesh, as God had commanded him: and the LORD shut him in.
Basar – flesh
H1320 בָּשָׂר basar (baw-sawr’) n-m. the body of all creatures; humans and animals.
International Standard Bible Encyclopedia: MARRIAGE
Although Christian opinion is divided on the necessity of coitus for validating marriage, Paul plainly taught that it is the specific act by which man and woman become one flesh (Bailey, Sexual Relation in Christian Thought, p. 119). True marriage, therefore, must not be confused with a wedding ceremony, which only solemnizes and symbolizes a couple’s total commitment.
Genesis 2:22-24 [read Genesis 2:8-25 (22-24)]
the Lord made a woman out of the rib. The Lord God brought her to the man, 23 and the man exclaimed,

Here is someone like me!
She is part of my body, my own flesh and bones.
She came from me, a man.
So I will name her Woman!

24 That’s why a man will leave his own father and mother. He marries a woman, and the two of them become like one person. (CEV)

KJV: And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. 23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. 24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

Keep marriage holy: gender pronouns his and her

1 Corinthians 7:2-4 [read 1 Corinthians 7:1-9 (2, 4)]
But since sexual immorality is occurring, each man should have sexual relations with his own wife, and each woman with her own husband. 3 The husband should fulfill his marital duty to his wife, and likewise the wife to her husband. 4 The wife does not have authority over her own body but yields it to her husband. In the same way, the husband does not have authority over his own body but yields it to his wife. (NIV)
KJV: Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband. 3 Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence: and likewise also the wife unto the husband. 4 The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife.

Moral guidance

Hebrews 13:4 [read Hebrews 13:1-6 (4)]
Have respect for marriage. Always be faithful to your partner, because God will punish anyone who is immoral or unfaithful in marriage. (CEV)
KJV: Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.

Biblical vs. Political and Social Correctness

Mark 10:6-8 [read Mark 10:1-12 (6-8)]
But it certainly isn’t God’s way. For from the very first he made man and woman to be joined together permanently in marriage; therefore a man is to leave his father and mother, 8 and he and his wife are united so that they are no longer two, but one. (TLB)
KJV: But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female. 7 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife; 8 And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh.

Male and female always until death

This scripture is about salvation only. Please consider the entire context before making any conclusions or judgments. There will always be a distinction between nationalities, socioeconomic status, and genders until we leave this human body.
Galatians 3:28 [read Galatians 3:26-29 (28)]
There is [now no distinction in regard to salvation] neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you [who believe] are all one in Christ Jesus [no one can claim a spiritual superiority]. (AMP)
KJV: There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

Same-sex marriages

All same-sex relations are against God’s will; therefore, they are not holy and cannot become a holy (God-approved) marriage.

God considers intimate relations between people of the same sex evil or a sin.
Romans 1:24, 26 [read 18-32 (24, 26)
24 Because they did these things, God left them and let them go their sinful way, wanting only to do evil. As a result, they became full of sexual sin, using their bodies wrongly with each other. 26 Because people did those things, God left them and let them do the shameful things they wanted to do. Women stopped having natural sex and started having sex with other women. (NCV)
KJV: 24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: 26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

Will not inherit God’s kingdom

1 Corinthians 6:9-10 [read 1 Corinthians 6:1-11 (9-10)]
Don’t you know that people who are unjust won’t inherit God’s kingdom? Don’t be deceived. Those who are sexually immoral, those who worship false gods, adulterers, both participants in same-sex intercourse, 10 thieves, the greedy, drunks, abusive people, and swindlers won’t inherit God’s kingdom. (CEB)
KJV: Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, 10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.

Same-sex relationships are unholy

1 Timothy 1:9-10 [read 1 Timothy 1:3-11 (9-10)]
We also know [or …recognizing this:] that the law is not made [intended; laid down] for good people [the just/righteous person] but for those who are against the law [lawbreakers; lawless] and for those who refuse to follow it [rebels; criminals]. It is for people who are against God [godless; ungodly] and are sinful, who are unholy and ungodly [irreverent; profane], who kill [or strike] their fathers and mothers, who murder,
10 who take part in sexual sins, who have sexual relations with people of the same sex [are practicing homosexuals], who sell slaves [are kidnappers/slave traders], who tell lies, who speak falsely, and who do anything against [or all who live contrary to] the true teaching of God. (EXB)
KJV: Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, 10 For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;

The Sodom and Gomorrah example

Jude 1:7 [read Jude 1:5-11 (7)]
Also, remember what happened to the cities called Sodom and Gomorrah, and the other cities that were near them. Like those bad angels, the people who lived in those places were also doing evil things. They were having sex with people who were not their husbands or their wives.
They liked to have sex in other ways that are not right. God destroyed their cities. He has punished them with fire that never stops burning. That is an example of what will happen to wicked people like them. (EASY)
KJV: Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.
Defender’s Study Bible: Our modern age of sexual promiscuity and “gay pride,” especially as now being defended by some “Christian” theological and pastoral leaders, is certainly the most extensive fulfillment of this prophetic description since Jude was constrained to write it.

Many will disagree with the content of this lesson and find it insensitive. But I must show that I love you enough to tell you the truth.
