Sound Truth Ministry – About Us

stm logo and favicon

Hello and welcome to Sound Truth Ministry, about us. You can call me Tim, but some, particularly those to whom I minister, choose to call me Pastor or Bishop Tim.

Servant

I am an ordained Elder/Bishop and called to be an Apostle. If I were to wear a title it is “Servant”. Too often people get hung up on titles and even offended if addressed otherwise. I realize I am no one other than the LORD’s instrument. So, I strive to allow Him to use me. Like Paul, I consider it an honor that God has chosen and entrusted me to be His servant and to preach and teach His word.

About Us – Our Goal

One of our goals is to help teach the people of God to use the indwelling Spirit to teach them the Word of God. We do so by teaching willing people “how to study God’s Word” and not relying on people to do so. The Scriptures support other Scriptures. When we take the time to read enough Scriptures we will ultimately get an understanding of any topic or subject.

Nontraditional

I know this is not traditional or familiar, but it is so very essential. There are so many false teachers who twist the Word to meet their agenda. The approach that we use, helps the people of God rely more on the Holy Spirit for understanding than on other people. Sound Truth Ministry has been “Making A Difference One Life At A Time” since 1981.

  • We minister to all, it doesn’t matter which denomination, the form of religion, religious background, or socioeconomic status.
  • In all places, on the street, in a store, in your home, under a bridge, via phone, or on the internet.
  • At all times, whether we are on vacation or just enjoying a getaway, we are never too busy to help God’s people.

Share what you have

So, the large number of believers were united in heart and soul [i.e., mind and spirit], and not one of them said that anything he owned [really] belonged to him, but they shared all things in common. 33 And the apostles testified concerning the resurrection of the Lord Jesus with great power, and the favor [of God] was upon all of them. 34 And no one lacked anything, for all who owned property or houses sold [some of] them and brought the money 35 and gave it to the apostles, who distributed it to each person who had a need. Acts 4:32-35 (AUV)

Donations

About us – financial: We do not need or ask for donations or monetary gifts. Best of all we will bring the Word of God to you FREE of charge. No gimmicks, as God did with Moses when He instructed him to build the temple. He has done with us; providing all that we need. In fact, our focus is to GIVE to those who are in need as God has blessed us.

Trust God

When Jesus sent His disciples, the apostles, He assured them that He would give all they needed [see Mark 6:7-13, Luke 10:1-12 and 22:35-38]. He has done that for this ministry. God has often told me “if you take care of my business, I will take care of you”. He has done that and I am confident He will continue to do so. Trust God, my dear brothers and sisters. I pray that you will be blessed by this ministry…

Bible Study Collection/Series

Logo for the Bible study collection page for about us

We are very excited about the ‘Bible Study Collection’ and ‘Bible Topic Series’. Our desire is to add new content often for as long as we can. We do not have a staff and I thank God for supplying the skills and tools to do all that I do.

You may notice a slight difference in the style that I use, little commentary, and plenty of scripture. It might take a little getting used to and some may not like it at all. Hopefully, you will appreciate this concept as it helps you learn to study to get an understanding and not have someone tell you what God is saying.

Coming one day

Our ongoing goal is to offer a video with each new bible study; this is still in progress. Please honor us with a visit today and continue to come back daily for more spiritual truth. We are looking forward to your comments, suggestions, and/or questions.

  1. Hi Toby, you are correct, I don’t know what it’s like to be schizophrenic and do not claim to know. I will respect your request and will not pray for you. Respectfully, Tim.

  2. I’m sorry I accidently unsubscribed to stministy. Like I said before as someone with mental health probs I really struggle in a YEARLY walk with God LET ALONE daily!!!? I don’t mean to cause any offence but I certainly DO NOT want you to pray for me…something alot of so called Christians have betrayed me over and made my life literally more hellish!!!!!!! PLEASE RESPECT MY WISHES. And I hate to say it but I don’t think YOU know how say a schizophrenic can walk with God….NOT that I’m that.all the best

  3. Hello again my friend, I was not planning to follow the tradition of a Christmas message (Bible study), but since you requested it, I will do my best to post it ASAP. The short explanation, I celebrate the birth and existence of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ everyday. Please accept these Scriptures for now…

Galatians 4:8-12 Formerly, when you did not know God, you were slaves to those who by nature are not gods. 9 But now that you know God–or rather are known by God–how is it that you are turning back to those weak and miserable principles? Do you wish to be enslaved by them all over again? 10 You are observing special days and months and seasons and years! 11 I fear for you, that somehow I have wasted my efforts on you. 12 I plead with you, brothers, become like me, for I became like you. You have done me no wrong. (NIV)

Colossians 2:13-21 (NIV) 13 When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your sinful nature, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, 14 having canceled the written code, with its regulations, that was against us and that stood opposed to us; he took it away, nailing it to the cross. 15 And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross. 16 Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival (KJV “holyday”), a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. 17 These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ. 18 Do not let anyone who delights in false humility and the worship of angels disqualify you for the prize. Such a person goes into great detail about what he has seen, and his unspiritual mind puffs him up with idle notions. 19 He has lost connection with the Head, from whom the whole body, supported and held together by its ligaments and sinews, grows as God causes it to grow. 20 Since you died with Christ to the basic principles of this world, why, as though you still belonged to it, do you submit to its rules:

  4. Thank you Tim, you as well. May God bless you and yours abundantly for your God works.
    Emma

  5. Thanks for the follow. I’ve done likewise. I pray God blesses your ministry for all your Godly works. Abundant blessings, Emma

  6. Dear Rev. Jones,

I apologize for the delayed response to your question, I do appreciate your question.

The answer: Many, many years ago, I asked God to prepare me for His work and to make it so I would not have to rely on tithes and offerings to maintain my livelihood or fulfill His calling. Because we are doing as God instructed us to do, like He did with Moses when told him to built the tabernacle, God has supplied and continues to supply all we need. [Read Exodus 25:1-9; 35:4-19] We do not have to ask anyone to give us anything. [Read Exodus 36:2-7 (focus verses: 3 ‘freewill offerings’; 4-5 ‘more than enough’ and 6-7 ‘the unusual command to stop giving’)].

Exodus 36:1-7 Bible in Basic English (BBE) So let Bezalel and Oholiab get to work, with every wise-hearted man to whom the Lord has given wisdom and knowledge, to do whatever is necessary for the ordering of the holy place, as the Lord has given orders. 2 Then Moses sent for Bezalel and Oholiab, and for all the wise-hearted men to whom the Lord had given wisdom, even everyone who was moved by the impulse of his heart to come and take part in the work: 3 And they took from Moses all the offerings which the children of Israel had given for the building of the holy place. And still they went on giving him more free offerings every morning. 4 Then the wise men, who were doing all the work of the holy place, came from their work; 5 And said to Moses, The people are giving much more than is needed for the work which the Lord has given us orders to do.

6 So Moses made an order and had it given out through all the tents, saying, Let no man or woman make any more offerings for the holy place. So the people were kept from giving more. 7 For the material they had was enough and more than enough for all the work which had to be done.

Keep in mind also, when the Lord sent the disciples (apostles) out to begin their ministry, He commanded them to take nothing for the journey except a staff — no bag, no bread, no copper in their money belts — 9 but to wear sandals, and not to put on two tunics. [Read Mark 6:7-13; compare Matthew 10:1,5-15; Luke 9:1-6]. As you know, Acts records what happened to them during their ministries, didn’t the Lord provide for them?

So my dear brother I must say God has supplied all that I need to perform what He sent us to do; it is just me and my wife (for now). Through the Holy Spirit, He blessed me with the skills to do all of the research, design and manage the website and the Bible studies, create all of the graphics using photos that we take and made it possible for me to have the time to do it all… I am not bragging, just giving God the glory for what He has done and is continuing to do. Trust the Lord, follow His instructions that He has given you for the work that He has called you to do. If you are obedient and remain faithful, He will supply all your need :-).

If you have not done so already, please read my article (page) entitled ‘Spiritual Growth

  9. All I can say is that finally I have found a ministry that is following in the footsteps of Jesus Himself. And you are right God will provide because you are obedient from tithes, to humility in spirit, to delivering and sharing the word of God.

  10. Bless you Elder McClendon, I so appreciate your taking time to visit the site, thank you so much for the blessing and may God continue to bless your ministry as well!
