Get Right With God Now; Tomorrow’s Often Too Late!

Get right with God now before the door closes!

STM Bible Snack

Luke 13:23-25 [read Luke 13:22-33 (23-25); suggested read Proverbs 1:20-33 (23-32)]
Someone asked him, “Will only a few be saved?” And he replied, 24-25 “The door to heaven is narrow. Work hard to get in, for the truth is that many will try to enter but when the head of the house has locked the door, it will be too late. Then if you stand outside knocking, and pleading, ‘Lord, open the door for us,he will reply, ‘I do not know you.’ (TLB)
KJV: Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them, 24 Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able. 25 When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are:

Tomorrow is Not Promised

A true follower of the Lord must always put Him first.
Luke 9:61-62 [read Luke 9:57-62 (61-62)]
Then another said, “I’m ready to follow you, Master, but first excuse me while I get things straightened out at home.” 62 Jesus said, “No procrastination. No backward looks. You can’t put God’s kingdom off till tomorrow. Seize the day.” (MSG)
KJV: And another also said, Lord, I will follow thee; but let me first go bid them farewell, which are at home at my house. 62 And Jesus said unto him, “No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.
Ecclesiastes 7:14 [read Ecclesiastes 7:13-14 (14)]
When life is good, enjoy it. But when life is hard, remember: God gives good times and hard times, and no one knows what tomorrow will bring. (NCV)
KJV: In the day of prosperity be joyful, but in the day of adversity consider: God also hath set the one over against the other, to the end that man should find nothing after him.

Get Right With God Now

Romans 3:22 [read Romans 3:21-26 (22)]
We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are. 23 For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. (NLT)
KJV: Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:

Will you still be alive tomorrow?

James 4:13-14 [read James 4:13-17 (13-14)]
Listen. Some of you talk like this, you say, “Tomorrow we will go to that town over there, and we will buy things for a little bit of money, and then we will sell them for a lot of money. We will keep on doing that for a year. That’s how we will get plenty of money to keep for ourselves.” 14 You talk like that. You say, “Tomorrow,” but you don’t know what will happen tomorrow. Will you still be alive tomorrow? You know, your life is like a puff of smoke, it doesn’t last long. You are alive today, but maybe tomorrow you will die. (PEV)
KJV: Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain: 14 Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.

So if you are not a born-again believer, know that you must be born again. If you were reborn, make sure the Holy Spirit is leading your life. Most of all, remember to get right with God now, because tomorrow’s often too late! Thank you for taking the time to read this Bible snack. I urge you to make full use of it. Blessings to you and your loved ones— Tim. ☺
