Welcome
7Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you (NLT). 10 And the God who bestows every unearned favor [upon His people], who invited you to partake of His eternal splendor through Christ Jesus, will restore, confirm, strengthen and stabilize you people [in the faith], after you have gone through a brief time of suffering [(AUV) 1 Peter 5:7 and 10].
Never give up; it will be worth it
“Do Not Give Up” is a five-part Bible study created for those going through trying times. One thing we should know about living a Christian life, we will go through many tribulations {things, hard times, or troubles}. Did you think your problems would end when you became a child of God?
Please be encouraged as you face each trial or test and do not give up. Endure (go through) until the end of this life on earth. Take this journey through the Scriptures to see why it is worth it.
Paul, after being stoned (i.e. with rocks; not getting high, lol), told the disciples they would have hard times. He also urged them to accept the hard times; by faith, the reward is a life without misery.
“strengthening the disciples and encouraging them to continue in the faith. “We must endure many hardships,” they said, “to get into the kingdom of God”’ [Acts 14:22 (ISV)].
Jesus told us about some of the things that we will experience and lets us know the reward if we do not give up.
You will be hated by all men for my name’s sake, but he who endures to the end will be saved [Matthew 10:22 (WEB)].
Whatever you are going through, any kind of hardship or sickness, keep the faith. All faithful Christians will receive the reward of eternal bliss in heaven.
The word Christian is from the Greek word Christianos (khris-tee-an-os’) used first in Acts 11:26 “…the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.” A person that believes in, follows the examples/teachings of and is related to Christ through His blood. {The word Christian is another topic planned for a future Bible study}
Never Give Up
If we don’t give up [if we endure suffering, troubles, and hard times], we will rule with him. If we deny that we know him [disown, reject him], he will deny that he knows us [inspired by 2 Timothy 2:12].
Life seems like a roller coaster at times, many ups and downs; sometimes more downs than ups, please never give up. You know what is going on in your life; I do not need to paint a gloomy picture by using a lot of statistics. This message is for YOU yes, YOU, the one that feels like YOU cannot take it anymore.
God will strengthen you with his own great power so that you will not give up when troubles come, but you will be patient [Colossians 1:11 (NCV)].
Hold on
Whatever the problem or situation, never give up. I have been there and asked God to give me a break, yes, I cried out to my Father and He gave me what I asked for. The break lasted long enough for me to get my act back on track. When the break ended, I was strong enough to finish the test. Once the test ended, He gave me what I needed.
But keep this in mind, I had (YOU have) to pass the test. Hold on, never give up; pass the test!
The righteous call to the Lord, and he listens; he rescues them from all their troubles. 18 The Lord is near to those who are discouraged; he saves those who have lost all hope [Psalm 34:17-18 (GNT)].
Live by Faith
That is why we never give up. Our physical body is becoming older and weaker, but our spirit inside us is made new every day. 17 We have small troubles for a while now, but these troubles are helping us gain an eternal glory. That eternal glory is much greater than our troubles.
18 So we think about what we cannot see, not what we see. What we see lasts only a short time, and what we cannot see will last forever [2 Corinthians 4:16-18 (ERV)].
Love the Lord, all of you who are faithful to him! The Lord watches over the faithful. But he completely pays back those who are proud. 24 Be strong, all of you who put your hope in the Lord. Never give up [Psalm 31:23-24 (NIRV)].
It is so important for us to understand that we should never give up when we face difficult and challenging times. Please do not give up there is hope in the Lord.
♥ Question for ‘do not give up; never give up hope’: Have you asked the Lord for help?
Do Not Give Up Hope
Have you ever reached a point in life that you wanted it to end? I am not talking about wanting to commit suicide but a time when you need a break—a vacation from life. Sometimes it seems like you cannot make it through another crisis. One thing after another hits you and sometimes, you just want to yell STOP! Of course, I am not talking about you, it’s the other people who go through those experiences. ☺ You might wonder, “am I being punished”?
And we should not become tired of doing good things, for eventually, we will receive [never ending life] if we do not give up [Galatians 6:9 (AUV)]. Galatians 6:6-10 (9); 2 Corinthians 4:1-6 (1)
Patience
Be patient, then, my friends, until the Lord comes. See how patient farmers are as they wait for their land to produce precious crops. They wait patiently for the autumn and spring rains. 8 You also must be patient. Keep your hopes high, for the day of the Lord’s coming is near.
9 Do not complain against one another, my friends, so that God will not judge you. The Judge is near, ready to appear. 10 My friends, remember the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord. Take them as examples of patient endurance under suffering.
11 We call them happy because they endured. You have heard of Job’s patience, and you know how the Lord provided for him in the end. For the Lord is full of mercy and compassion [James 5:7-11 (GNT)].
Triggers
There are so many things that happen in life that can bring us to ‘the breaking point’, I could not possibly list all of them. Here is a list that covers some of those things, triggers, that cause people to want to give up:
- When it seems like you are not progressing in life.
- Too many bills and not enough money.
- Repetition and the routines of life make you want to quit.
- Duties and requirements are overwhelming you.
- You feel like you are being punished.
- Temptations are starting to wear you down to the point of giving in.
- Feeling unappreciated or neglected.
- Tired of exercising, dieting, and going without the foods and beverages you really like.
Comfort
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; 4 Who comforts us in all our troubles, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God [2 Corinthians 1:3-4 (RKJNT)].
So brothers and sisters, be careful that none of you has an evil, unbelieving heart that will turn you away from the living God. 13 But encourage each other every day while it is “today.” [a] Help each other so none of you will become hardened because sin has tricked you.
Hold on to faith
14 We all share in Christ if we keep till the end the sure faith we had in the beginning. 15 This is what the Scripture says: “Today listen to what he says. Do not be stubborn as in the past when you turned against God” [Hebrews 3:12-15 (NCV)].
- [reference Psalm 95:7–8] [a] Footnotes: Hebrews 3:13 “today” This word is taken from verse 7. It means that it is important to do these things now.
As members of the body of Christ, we are to encourage each other daily maintaining the hope we have in Christ so we do not give up. Let’s go through sufferings and disappointments patiently holding on to our faith in our Savior.
♥ Question for do not give up hope: Are you holding on to hope and trusting God?
You Can Make It
Therefore, let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall. 13 No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man: but
God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able to endure; but with the temptation will also make a way to escape, that you may be able to bear it [1 Corinthians 10:12-13 (RKJNT)].
You can make it through the tests and troubles (problems). I want to emphasize the fact that God is faithful—will never let you down—and will make your situation bearable. There are many types of tests that we face during our lives, some are physical, mental and spiritual in nature or impact. Regardless of the cause or impact—pain, guilt or feeling like giving up—God will help you.
Endure
Be encouraged to endure. You are not alone, do not give up, and never quit trying. After all, you can make it!
You know it was because of infirmity of the flesh that I first preached the gospel to you. 14 And though my fleshly condition was a trial for you, you did not despise or reject me; but received me as an angel from God, as Christ Jesus himself. 15 Where then is the blessed joy you had? for I bear you witness, that, if possible, you would have plucked out your own eyes, and have given them to me [Galatians 4:13-15 (RKJNT)].
If you ever feel like God has abandoned you we must remember the examples of those who suffered in the Bible; Paul is a good example. Though it is not clear what Paul’s ‘infirmity of the flesh’ or ‘fleshly condition’ was, he did not let it stop him from continuing to trust and obey God. Please do not give up, you can make it with help from the Lord!
Paul had asked three times to be delivered of affliction, but God did not heal him. The reason is obvious, as is stated by Paul himself, that it was to keep him humble (2 Corinthians 12:7). It is worth noting that our afflictions which are permitted by God are often for the same reason. We cannot see how pervasive sin really is in us, and sometimes we’re humbled by our afflictions and return to God and trust him. This, of course, is a good thing. – What was Paul’s thorn in the flesh? || Christian Apologetics and Research Ministry

I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that will be revealed in us. 28 We know that
all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose [Romans 8:18 and 28 (NSB)].
God’s Spirit Is Now Within
The fact that you have the Spirit of God within is very important. Especially when dealing with problems. Why? The fact that the Holy Spirit is the ultimate source of help [John 16:7-9 (ICB)] and comfort [John 14:26 (KJV)].
Do you not know that your body is the temple (the very sanctuary) of the Holy Spirit Who lives within you, Whom you have received [as a Gift] from God? You are not your own, 1 Corinthians 6:19 (AMPC)
May He grant you out of the riches of His glory, to be strengthened and spiritually energized with power through His Spirit in your inner self, [indwelling your innermost being and personality], Ephesians 3:16 (AMP)
For your good
No matter how difficult things are nothing bad happens to those who love God. All things will ultimately work for good. Jesus said, “the person that endures to the end will be saved” [Matthew 10:22]. Do not give up you can make it because the Spirit of your God is living inside of you! And He is there to help and comfort you—be blessed—♥ Tim.☺

Blessed Is The Match
Blessed is the match consumed
in kindling flame.
Blessed is the flame that burns
in the secret fastness of the heart.
Blessed is the heart with the strength to stop
its beating for honor’s sake.
