Thank you Jesus

First, I must thank the Lord for giving me the skills, knowledge and resources to design, create and keep up this website; not a boast, but gratitude. The past four months were challenging as I had to redesign and in many cases make significant changes to the content. The goal was to add color to the site, make the Bible studies more consistent and make everything user-friendly. Not to mention SEO (search engine optimization) and other more technical stuff. So, the Sound Truth Ministry website now has a new look!

Hopefully, our pictures and graphics will load faster. Each Bible study has the same look and feel; sometimes they might have too much color. Colorful content, one of my downfalls, I like color; my engineers in my computer technology life teased me about my colorful documentation. I made every attempt to make the long Bible studies easier to follow by breaking them into multiple parts. This was the first of many planned updates:

Our Bible studies will cross-reference with each other, for instance if you are interested in prayer, you have three options:

  1. Go to the bottom of any page, look for ‘STM Categories’ -> ‘Select categories’ -> select ‘prayer’ from the drop-down menu.
  2. In most cases I use descriptive titles; click on / tap the Bible Study Collection tab on the menu bar and select any of the Bible studies that contain the word ‘prayer’.
  3. Available cross-reference links are in the ‘conclusion’ section of all Bible studies under ‘Related articles’.

One challenge is to find a way to make all related content available since Daily Word, Last Week Today and four other pages contain up to twelve different short Bible studies. Again, I use prayer as an example, only two full Bible studies relate to prayer: Unanswered Prayers and Avoid the Prayer Blockers, but two short Bible studies are available: Pray First and The Prayer Formula. I plan to resolve this ASAP.

Also major topics or subjects that have a more detailed Bible study are or will be (in the near future) linked to that Bible study. One example, when the word ‘patience’ appears in one of the Bible studies, the link will take you to the Bible study ‘Patience’. The Bible study titled ‘Patience’ has a link in the ‘conclusion’ section under ‘Related articles’. I am working diligently to make sure all cross-references are included and up-to-date. My prayer is that I will have help not only maintaining the site, but also in creating the content, I know it will happen according to God’s plan.

More Scripture and less commentary – more of what God says and less of what I say — Tim

One thing that I love about this ministry is that we want you to know God better; I want you to say ‘God said’ or the ‘Scripture said’ and not ‘the Bishop’ or ‘Tim’ said, is that okay? We want to glorify the Lord, we want to make God the focus, it His word that counts. I know it is not always easy to understand Scriptures and you may not be accustomed to this technique, but I am doing it for your good. I want to thank you for your continued support during this transition and would love to get your comments. Please tell me about your experience with this site! Be blessed—Tim.

Bishop Pettiford

Welcome to a different type of ministry; we are primarily internet-based, we NEVER ask for MONEY for anything we do. We are faith-based and solely rely on God to give what we need. Your attention and time to check what we freely give is all we ask of you and that you be blessed by this ministry.
